To refresh the mind and spirit of the children, we put emphasis on recreational activities, as these help in their personal development and make the children become innovative, creative, energetic and confident.

Indoor

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we have been able to offer a wide range of indoor activities for the children over the past four years.  The children enjoy traditional and modern dance classes, vocal lessons, and music lessons in their chosen instruments such as drum, violin and flute.  Craft materials have been donated so we have been able to encourage the children in their creative development.  We are so grateful to those who have given donations that have been directed especially for music and dance as this is such an important part of the children’s development.  Our volunteers and visitors often comment on how much the children enjoy sharing what they have learnt.  Obviously, with more children arriving, our need for these donations will increase.

Outdoor

For outdoor activities, the children are taken for excursions and picnics so that they can see the world outside the walls of SON and their school. The Executive Members contribute for a significant part of these expenses and Sonrisa’s general expenses are used to cover activities when possible.  It is wonderful that some very generous friends of SON are also sponsoring special activities such as camping.These donations make a very big difference for us and for the children.
