Education stands among the topmost priorities for the children in Sonrisa. Therefore, we have put much effort not to make any compromises in this area. All of them continue to study at the English medium-government school "Shivapuri Madhyamik Vidhyala" and are studying at different grades. We have employed a tutor who helps them with their homework after school. All the children work hard but it is difficult for some who have significant learning difficulties. We are constantly working out ways to build on their strengths and support their weaknesses, help their specific needs and help them to achieve their full potential.

Fortunately, we have been receiving educational resources from different parts of the world, which will help them to enhance their mental agility.  Donations of books and educational games help to make learning fun for them and may help to overcome the emphasis on “rote” learning they have here.  We would love to increase our library with more educational resources as we know this would be extremely beneficial for the children to expand their knowledge and to help them see that learning goes on for all their lives.
