While we wish we had a doctor who could visit the orphanage regularly and not charge us for carrying out general check ups, we are happy to report that 4 years on, the children are much more healthy and do not need to see doctors or take medicine for illness very often. The children take vitamins and calcium to help maintain their health and exercise regularly in structured and unstructured activities.
In mid 2011, we expect the arrival of some more children and would not expect that their health would be as good as the children who have been living here. We do hope however, that the improvement in their health is as good as it has been for the “older” children. Nepal is a country where all medicine costs money and there are no free services, so any donations towards medical care are VERY gratefully received!
