Namaste!
I spent 2 months at Sonrisa as a live-in volunteer staff in 2008. It was a great exeprience of inclusiveness.
During my stay, the children taught me the joy and greatness of sharing, giving and helping each other. The children's life in Nepal is very simple and they have few things, unlike the children in Canada or Japan; yet thay don't hesitate to share their most precious possessions, such as their hair bands, a cutout from a magazine, flowers on the way to school, or a beautiful drawings.
I was also very impressed by the Sonrisa workers and board members. They are all sincere, enthusiastic Nepalese with big hearts. They dedicate their time, money and effort to this orphanage, and are always searching for ways to make it a better place. I feel very honored to be a friend of such wonderful people. I want to keep working with them for a bright future of the children.
